Consulting

Our consultants stay familiar with the latest in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Building Information Modeling (BIM), Computer Aided Design (CAD), database technology and regulatory requirements.  Our engineers and IT professionals each average over 30 years of experience, covering not just airport facilities operations but also architecture-engineering-construction (AEC) and software development, implementation and integration.  Our consulting aims at improving your business processes, starting with needs assessments and phased road-mapping of appropriate technology applications.

As trusted advisors to all our clients, our team consists of highly experienced system designers, technical architects and network engineers, who can assist you with decision on the best possible network architecture required for your optimal geospatial solution.

Optimization Reviews

We offer a service to review your organizations use of all CAD, BIM, and GIS related software, and provide advice how the configuration can be further optimized to exploit the full advantage of our x-Spatial solution suite and your wealth of Geospatial related data.

Project Management

x-Spatial deliver process reviews and a project delivery plan to help set up your solution, then exceptional support and any additional consultancy you may request.

Our project management team will work with you to ensure that you maximize the wealth of geospatial data available within your enterprise.  A rigorous and disciplined approach to project management and methodology enables x-Spatial projects to be delivered on time and on budget with fit-for-purpose solutions that realize and exceed expected requirements.

For all our projects, xSpatial uses PRINCE2 ® (Projects IN Controlled Environment) as a structured method for effective and efficient management of projects. It is a generic, best-practice approach for the management of all types of projects and it has become the de facto standard for organizing, managing and controlling projects globally.

The method divides projects into manageable stages to encourage efficient control of resources and regular progress monitoring. PRINCE2 is "product-based", meaning the project plans are focused on delivering results, and not simply planning when activities will be undertaken; it provides a common language across a project and provides breakpoints within a contractual framework.

PRINCE2 BENEFITS

  • Provides a host of benefits, including an organized and controlled start, middle and end to a project; ensuring that the validity of the project is maintained once the project has started and the project deliverables are accepted by the client before officially closing the project.
  • Regular reviews of progress against plan and against the Business Case
  • Flexible decision points
  • Controlled management of deviations from the project plans thanks to the Management by Exception principle
  • The involvement of management and stakeholders at the right time and place during the project
  • Good communication amongst the project management team, the stakeholders, and the rest of the organization

Systems Configuration & Integration

we deliver exceptional support and training to our clients, who aim to increase integration between data sources.  Better data integration increases the efficiency of your operations and maximizes the effectiveness of your IT systems.

We have a team of technical resources dedicated to assisting with the integration of existing enterprise applications, with Web Services and APIs available that are designed to integrate with your other enterprise systems, such as Maximo®, PROPworks®, OpenText®, SAP®, Paver®, PeopleSoft®, and any Environmental, Security or Safety application.

  • Internet of Things (IoT) provides a common communication medium for sharing sensor data
  • Application Programming Interfaces (API)s published by sensor system enables sensor data to be “understood” and leveraged by other systems
  • ESRI’s ArcGIS GeoEvent Server facilitates processing real-time sensor data and displaying it contextually on a map

Standards & Guidelines

x-Spatial has extensive experience and thorough knowledge of best practices, demanded for developing and maintaining data standards and guidelines.  Our team of experts stands ready to provide the necessary expertise and staffing to enhance your existing standards and guidelines.

All Standards and guidelines should:

  • Be practicable and easy to implement (usability).
  • This is the key to successful adoption of standards. It is no use spending time and effort developing brilliant theories which no-one will actually be able to use.
  • Be consistent (consistency) Standards should bring clarity but not confusion or ambiguity.
  • To be credible, all related standards must give the same message.
  • Make use of existing industry, national and international standards (re-usability)
  • Do not re-invent the wheel. Benefit from experiences and mistakes made all around the world.
  • Be platform and software independent (portability).
  • As platform- and software- life-cycles are shorter than the life-cycle for data, avoid locking yourself in to standards ………….
  • Read more…  Send them to contact us
  • Implementing these standards and guidelines will then:
  • Facilitate data exchange (data interoperability)
  • Standards should define data formats that make it easier for users and applications to exchange data.
  • Enable bridges with existing data (data interconnection)
  • Instead of duplicating data to make it available to different applications, try to build links to them………………

Data Processing

Every Enterprise needs an accurate geospatial inventory of all their properties, assets, networks and space usage along with the complex array of related information.

The initial challenge of retrieving historical information and verifying the location and the accuracy of related attributes; or commissioning High definition scans for existing installations whilst ensuring that data quality and interoperability with other systems; is a core part of the x-spatial solution suite.

Maintaining this information as new capital projects are commissioned alongside the multitude of smaller projects and improvements that are part of an enterprises life cycle is where the x-spatial solution suite excels; by having data quality control built into the solution and guaranteeing a seamless exchange of data between CAD, BIM and GIS while ensuring full interoperability with all of your other enterprise systems.

Our mobile solution allows you to capitalize on your workforce by, expanding data creation and editing to non-GIS users in both the office and the field.

Quality Management

Quality Management for Geospatial Data

A quality management program is an integral part of your geospatial data program.  Our Quality management framework facilitates the establishment of your Quality Management Program for all of your enterprise geospatial data. It outlines key quality principles and practices and provides a clear quality road map.  Our highly experienced team can provide all your enterprise requires to achieve a sustainable Quality Management Program

The overall objective of data quality management is to guarantee that all facilities and infrastructure data is always of sufficient quality to meet user requirements. Quality management applies to all parties involved in providing and using this data; and to all stages in the data life cycle, from origination to maintenance and eventual archiving or destruction.

Our highly experienced team can provide all your enterprise requires to achieve a sustainable Quality Management Program.  When a quality policy that meets the needs of different users has been defined and agreed, the department responsible for quality management can then:

  • set up a quality assurance program including procedures to verify compliance with applicable requirements, standards and procedures
  • provide documentation and reports to demonstrate how the quality management system (QMS) is functioning
  • appoint management-level staff to monitor the accuracy and usefulness of related procedures and to make sure these procedures are applied
  • review and revise the QMS as appropriate
  • The QMS is audited regularly, requiring proof that maintenance processes for data covering each type of registered asset – origination, production, handling, processing, transfer or distribution – are:
  • clearly defined
  • up to date
  • adequate to guarantee the level of integrity assigned to the data item

Change Management

At x-Spatial we strongly believe that dealing with the change that an enterprise geospatial system brings, and more importantly, the impact of change is a high priority for all organizations.

Our highly experienced team can provide support, and road maps on the best sustainable approach for succeeding during these important changes.

  • Change and the individual;
  • Change and the organization;
  • Communication and stakeholder engagement;
  • Change practice.
